Today we are hit by the news that a terrorist attack as been stopped by a major police operation. British airports are in chaos with massive delays and cancelled flights, many peoples holidays are ruined.
The plot as you will have all heard was to carry liquid explosives in drink containers onto 9 or 10 British/American cross Atlantic flights. So far as I know there have been 21 arrests so far in England and a number of arrests in Karachi (Pakistan).
If this plot had not been stopped by our security services (MI5 & CIA) around 4,000 people would have been murdered. These people are normal people (including law abiding muslims) and don't deserve to die because of someone else's sick beliefs.
The men of violence around the world of all races & religions need stopping, they are sick.
Personally I think hanging is too good for these Bastards.

I woke up to Fox and Friends discussing this. I am so proud of Scotland Yard and all the folk there that busted this plot. The guys that busted this evil, sickening plot are world heroes!
Definitely congratulations and major thank yous are due to those that foiled this plot. I am fearful about the direction that our world is going. Perhaps each generation has faced such major challenges. This seems so ephermeral; like trying to nail jello to the wall. The terrorist can be just about anyone, but most have been Middle Eastern men. Those willing to die and make innocent people die are probably a very very small percentage of their populations. Still, some profiling seems to make sense. That reality is so very very sad. Right now the realities of our world scare and irritate me.
What is scary is if these people are British born and bred. How can these peoples mindsets be changed, to want to kill their own countrymen and other innocent folk? Someone who is so brainwashed they WANT to die. You just cant grasp the thinking can you?
What always 'amuses' me is none of the 'Osama Bin Ladens' etc blow themselves up do they? Let the others be the martyrs!

Personally, I think even capitalizing the word, "bastard," is too good for these monsters. Creatures like this make me pause a moment to reconsider why I bother opposing the death penalty.
I couldn't believe the news when I heard about it this morning. Of course, my two co-workers that are going over there in a week are a little nervous about the travel, but this is just getting out of control! Is no one safe! I just wonder what we can do to stem the tide of this terrorism. It is really quite scary.
It was fortunate that the plot was uncovered, and yes 4,000 lives lost would have been a great tragedy. But I can't stop thinking about the 40,000 civilian lives lost in Iraq! Those innocent people were also normal and law abiding, and yet the world is silent on their deaths.

I couldn't agree more, these so called wars all around the world Iraq, Lebannon, Rwanda, etc. are terrible. All the people of violence need stopping the world must unite to do this.
I don't normally comment on politics (never trusted the people involved) but this was close to home (I could quite easily been on a plane targeted). I have my firm beliefs and consider myself a honest and fair person.
I can't believe people can carry out some of the attrocities that happen around the world.
