Wednesday Weigh In - Not enough

2007 Start Weight - 219lbs

Last Weigh in - 215.2lb

Todays Actual Weight - 214.5lb

Loss/Gain since last Weigh in - -0.7lb

Loss so far in 2007 - 4.5lb

Today's Target Weight - 205lb

Loss/Gain against Target - +9.5lb

A loss of 0.7lb this week and in my opinion still not enough I'm a massive 9.5lb away from my target for this stage of the year and I'm not happy about it. I honestly thought I'd done much better this week and am really dissapointed I have tried so hard. Since I gained on my recent Seattle trip I've really struggled to take off the sort of amounts I would like to, I'm not very pleased tonight.

A decision to make ?

Yesterday it was Bank Holiday but as the forcast was rain I decided to go into work in the morning. I stayed until Lunch time and went for a walk around the large market we have in town on these occasions.

With it been a holiday it meant we didn't have a Pool match but last night I decided to go to the Pub in the hope some of the other players were there so I could maybe have a few games. My regular Monday drinking partner Lofty is away on holiday.

Anyway to my surprise five other members of my team turned up and then the captain dropped a bombshell. Apparently he wanted a meeting with us players to vote on moving the team to a different Pub.

The reason for this is that one of our players has had a disagreement with the Pub Landlord and basically there is friction between a few of our team and the Landlord. Now I had a feeling I was been sort of thrown in at the deep end with this vote because everyone voted to move, I said leave it while the end of the season and see what happens. The instigators of this have done their homework because they have already arranged a new place to go to.

One problem with the new Pub is it is in a village a few miles from my home while the Pub we currently play for is about one mile and I can walk it. I will add that the captain said he would sort out transport for us each week, some of the team don't drink and take their cars. Also I don't have any dispute with anybody and me and Lofty only joined this team this season actually dropping down a division to play for them. I think a lot of the friction started last season from what I can make out.

Our team is currently top of the 2nd division and we are almost certain to be promoted into the top division which we want to play in.
If I decide to not move with the rest of the team the 2nd team captain where we play said I could get a game with them next season, they are currently in the third division but should be promoted to the 2nd.

My choices are :-
1. Stay loyal to my team and move with them and play 1st division next year but play in a Pub that will never be my local.

2. Stay loyal to the Pub that welcomed us when we were looking for a team, play 2nd or 3rd division but play in a Pub I like and use as a local.

Big decision what do you reckon ?

Music Monday - The "B's"

Continuing with last weeks alphabet game this week I'll pick 3 acts whose name begins with the letter "B". This week was tough with so many to choose from I've left out such big names as Beatles, Bowie, Blondie, Black Sabbath, Bassey, Boomtown Rats, plus many more I'm sure you'll name.

Before I go on special thanks to Spider for explaining how to post the Youtube clips into my post.

So the three for this week are :-

1. - Bon Jovi "Living on a Prayer" - Classic Rock song for the ever popular Bon Jovi, reached No4 in the chart in 1986 with this song.

2. Bangles "Eternal Flame" - Great song reached No1 in the UK chart back in 1989. Lovely ladies as well.

3. Blackfoot Sue "Standing in the Road" - So here is a blast from my early teenage day's, anyone remember these boys they reached No4 in the 1972 chart with this one.

Sunday Sport - Only Winning Counts

Well for a fan of English Sport the saying "only winning counts" is haunting us this week, its just been a week of 2nds.

I'll start today with the Formula One motor racing and the prestigeous Monaco Grand Prix. Our boy Lewis Hamilton started the day leading the World Championship standings but was beating into 2nd place by Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard also leap frogged him in the overall table. I will add Lewis is doing fantastic in his first season at this level and is surely a future World Champion.
Also today another of our up and coming stars golfer Justin Rose lost in a play off for the PGA Championship to Denmarks Anders Hansen. Unlucky Justin but your time will surely come.
One sport we look like getting a win is in the Cricket Test match were we are totally dominating against the West Indies but alas the rain as arrived at Headingly and unless it changes the match will be abandoned as a draw.
While on Cricket even Yorkshire lost their first county Championship match of the season but one piece of good news is we still top the table.

Earlier in the week English team Liverpool were beaten 2-1 by Italians AC Milan in the European Champions League final despite been the best team and dominating much of the game.
While we are talking European Champions I'd like to wish former Leeds United Manager Jimmy Armfield all the best in his recovery from cancer. Jimmy was the manager that took Leeds to the European Cup Final back in 1975 when we were robbed by blatent bad decisions such as Clarks Penalty and Lorimers goal.

In fact I remember that day in Paris well, I was a teenager and making my first foreign trip it certainly got a bit scary when the fans got fed up with the cheating and tried to take the law into their own hands.

My Story - Paris 75

Was we cheated you judge for yourself :-

Growler's

At work its a tradition when somebody thats leaving on their last day to bring in "Pork Pies" and "Cream Cakes" to feed all their workmates. This happend today and one person that was at the feast was American and he told us he'd never had Pork Pie before, but when he tried one he loved it. I will add I didn't eat too many because they are not known for their dieting attributes.

Pork Pie's known as Growlers in many parts of Yorkshire (hence the title to this post) are an English tradition, we love em, believe me they are gorgeous. They come in various sizes from small individual to large ones that can be cut up to feed many.

Now this led me to thinking (and that doesn't happen often) that I've never seen them anywhere else on my travels so I reckon most of my blog friends don't know what they are missing they go down lovely with a bit of Branston Pickle.

People in this part of the world have even been known to use them instead of Wedding Cakes (honest).

If you fancy trying them or your holding a party then treat your friends, the following link will give you a recipe for a large Growler that will feed about ten people, some people have slightly different versions.

Wednesday Weigh In - At least a loss to report

2007 Start Weight - 219lbs

Last Weigh in - 216lb

Todays Actual Weight - 215.2lb

Loss/Gain since last Weigh in - -0.8lb

Loss so far in 2007 - 3.8lb

Today's Target Weight - 206lb

Loss/Gain against Target - +9.2lb

Mixed emotions this week, I'm pleased I've actually lost because I knew I'd maybe struggle following a couple of nights out I've had in the last seven days. However I'm dissapointed as I sort of hoped to lose more than 0.8lb because I'm falling further away from my target. I'm still trying to get back to where I was before my vacation and lose a fair bit more before my next trip.

Talking of vacations I've questions for some of my blog friends :-

Jenny/Rachel - What are the must see things and must do's in Boston ?

Rebecca - Is September a good time to visit New Orleans ?

Bryan Adams - Summer Of '69

Paul Anka - Diana (1957)

Well this is even older than me, good sog though.

Altered Images

Well Claire Grogan was sort of Cute.

Music Monday - The Alphabet Challenge

Just to test all your music fans for the next 26 Mondays I'm going to go through the Alphabet with the acts I post.

Why the alphabet game ? Well starting with the letter "A" today then "B" next week and so on I'll work my way through the alphabet, obviously those of you that read my blog will be expected to come up with others begining with the same letter as I use.

Well this week I've chosen the following :-

Paul Anka - Diana

Altered Images - I could be happy.

Bryan Adams - Summer of 69

*Note - You Tube and Blogger don't appear to be talking to each other at present so the songs that have been sent have not yet appeared. Hopfully they will soon.

This Weekend and the Week ahead

Friday night I went out to York its was supposed to be our Department monthly outing but actually only Me and Mark were available. However "D" shift were having their leaving do for all who are getting redundancy so we met up with them so there was about 10 of us altogether.

The night started badly when we turned up at the bus stop we found that the times had been altered and we had missed the first bus but there was a later one which we had to catch so was 30minutes late.

Anyway we had a good night out touring a few pubs and a couple of Clubs, it was really busy as the Horse Racing had been on and the City was full of Racing fans. I must have had a dodgy pint cos I think I even ended updancing in one club. I eventually got home at about 1.30am but no incidents I can remember honest. I think the diet may have taken a bit of a hit, I'll have to work hard at it before Wednesdays weigh in.

Yesterday I did a bit of shopping in the morning and watched the Cup Final in the afternoon. It was a really poor match both teams seemed scared of each other and were far too negative. As I said in a previous post I don't like either team but was still pleased Chelsea won because I hate Manchester more.

Today I've been out in the field practising a few Golf shots for a hour this morning, I haven't played for about 8 months and am playing in a Works competition on Tuesday. Don't know how I'll do it'll be a bit erratic I expect. This afternoon I have been playing Table Tennis its only a practice session with one of my team mates but I want to train regular in the build up to next season. This was my first practice of the summer and we don't start competition until late August but I want to be fully prepared, I'm a touch knackered now though. My British league team have been promoted and we'll all have to be at our best if we are to stay up, it'll be hard but I like a challenge, my only worry is staying clear of injury following the crap 2nd half I had to last season. Its no fun playing anything when you hurt believe me.

Tomorrow night I've a Pool match so I suppose I'm a bit busy at present, I'm quite pleased about that because the crap they put on telly is not worth watching.

Quite a lot of people finished work at the end of April with a lot more going at the end of this month and to be honest its going to be like a ghost town. Its not as much fun as before with the shopfloor banter but it does pay the bills. We are due a Pay rise and it looks like it'll be about 3% they have also introduced a production bonus which could turn out good, If all targets are met it can rise to over £400 per month but to be honest its likely to be just under £100 average, not bad every month though when we got nothing like it before.

Seeing the World

Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while will know how much I like travelling and seeing new places. They will also know two years ago I decided that I would concentrate my travel to visiting North American Cities. Since I made that decision I've been lucky enough to visit 8 different Cities (New York, Chicago, Memphis, Nashville, Toronto, St Louis, San Francisco & Seattle). On my next trip I'll add another to the list when I spend time in Boston.

Now when I origionally planned this I said I'd do two years visiting North America then start looking at other parts of the world. To be honest a couple of months ago I thought I was going to get redundancy from work and was sort of planning a longer than normal trip to visit Australia & New Zealand. Other parts of the world I want to visit are South America and some of the Eastern European Countries.

Anyway back to North America I've been thinking about whether I should visit elsewhere and come to the conclusion although I've seen a lot there is more I want to see so I'll be still concentrating my trips to this part of the World. I've really enjoyed the places I've visited, people in general have been nice, I usually have a good time.

Now for the record two places I definately want to visit (and will visit) are New Orleans and Austin mainly for the live music in both Cities. I know one of my blog friends Rebecca keeps telling me to visit N.O. so I have a question "Is September a good time to visit ?"

My list of other Cities that I wouldn't mind visiting if I get the chance are Philadelphia, Washington, Baltimore, Vancouver, Montreal, Savannah, Atlanta plus many others etc. but to be honest the list grows all the time and I probably wont get around to all these. I don't rule out returning to some of the places I've been a lot depends if I can get a decent flight/hotel deal.

I've been lucky enough on my trips to actually meet two of my blog friends and hopfully I'll maybe meet more on future trips, I like to think so.

Here are some of my ratings on the places I've been :-

Today is FA Cup Final between Man Utd and Chelsea two teams its natural for me to hate.
However I hate the red vermin most so its Chelsea I'll be choosing this afternoon. Come on you Blues.

Wednesday Weigh In - Fighting Back

2007 Start Weight - 219lbs

Last Weigh in - 218lb

Todays Actual Weight - 216lb

Loss/Gain since last Weigh in - -2lb

Loss so far in 2007 - 3lb

Today's Target Weight - 207lb

Loss/Gain against Target - +9lb

I've a 2lb loss to report this week as I try to get back on track following my holiday gain. Although still 9lb behind my target for this week at least I've closed the gap by a pound. Hopefully I can now keep up this momentum until my next trip, I'll be trying.

Blogger p****d me off last night I spent ages posting photo's from my Seattle trip and lot of them dissapeared, if you want to check out My Photo's link a lot are there but I have abandoned that link. From now on I'm going to post Photo's on Flickr . I've still a few to post and I will eventually transfer everything onto this site and delete my current Photo blog. So if you want to check out my photo's I'm afraid you'll have to look at both links in the meantime.

Those of you who followed the posts on my British League Table Tennis team would have read how we just missed out on promotion finishing 2nd in our division. Well this week we got some good news a team from the league above has withdrawn and we have been promoted. Well I think its good news it will be really tough just trying to avoid relegation we could really do with strengthening the team but not sure who would be available. I know am really up for training hard in preparation for the season which starts in September.

Football Songs

As I didn't do a Sport Sunday or Music Monday this week I thought I'd put the two together.

Many British Football Clubs have their own anthems that they will always be associated with. Well the following are what I reckon are the best three far supperior to what other clubs can offer.

Have a watch and listen and some of you that don't know English Football will see the passion that fans have for their Clubs.

Obviously "Marching on Together" is the best but Liverpools "You'll never walk alone" and West Hams "Blowing Bubbles" are good, what do you think ?

Marching On Together

The best Football song of the lot and best club of course.

You'll Never Walk Alone

Great Football anthem and good luck Liverpool in the Champions League Final.

Blowing Bubbles

Been to watch the mighty whites at this East London outpost, one of the most intimidating grounds in the country.

Question For Americans - Fish & Chips

Obviously I like travelling to the States and Obviously I like food (don't get this shape for no reason). Anyway one of my favorite meals is Fish & Chips which is sort of a Yorkshire Delicacy in fact we have the most famous Chippies in the world "Harry Ramsdens", "Wetherby Whaler", "Neptune Whitby", etc.

Now I have tried Fish and Chips in a number of Cities in the States and everytime the Fish (Cod) although usually tasty it comes in 3 or 4 small battered pieces. This is unusual for me as we get ours in one decent sized piece. can anyone tell me why ?

These perfect examples are from my local Chippie.

Music and not even Monday

You are getting a Music post tonight because I've been tagged by Cactusfreek, apparently you have got to name your seven Favorite Albums and six Favorite Singles and also say why.

Then you have to tag five other people and when it comes to music Cactus as already tagged three of the people I would choose Rebecca, Celtic Girl & Spider so I'm going to add Airliebird and Jenny to that list.

I'll start with the Albums but I'll also say I am deliberately not picking any greatest hits albums because I don't necessarily consider them true albums just a collection of singles.

Been an oldie compared to some of you my musical roots started in the seventies and that era will allways influence a lot of my choices but I do love music of all sorts of styles from all decades.

Choices are difficult because I like so much music but these are what comes to mind tonight but ask me next week I'll probably give you a different list. These are not in any particular order.

Albums :-

Old, New, Borrowed and Blue (Slade) - My first musical interest was Glam Rock and I just loved Slade, this is their best album in my opinion. I've only got a vinyl copy so maybe I should spend some money. Slade

Parallel Lines (Blondie) - As I grew up my hormones kicked in and I fell in love with Debbie but this album as some great music on it.

Setting Sons (The Jam) - As the 70's moved into the eighties The Jam were the group I followed most and this album is by far their best, I love all the songs. The Jam

From the Cradle (Eric Clapton) - Over the last few years I've listened to more and more Blues music and started to appreciate its importance in the development of all types of Rock music. Clapton's style really suits it I've never heard it played better than on this album.

Revolver (The Beatles) - Just got to have something in here from the greatest group ever and this is my top choice from these scousers.

Stanley Road (Paul Weller) - 2nd one in here for Paul Weller (Jam front man) but I have followed all his career.

The End of the Beginning (Eddie and the Hot Rods) - Most underrated group of all time, unbelievable quality album.

Just for interest my seven favorite greatest hits/singles type albums are :-
The Pretenders Greatest hits
The Best of 1980 to 1990 (U2)
Forty Licks (Rolling Stones)
Extended Versions (Stray Cats)
One (Beatles)
The Ultimate Collection (The Kinks)
Ultimate Collection (Small Faces)

Singles :-

The House of the Rising Sun (The Animals) - Wrote in the 1920's but got to be one of the greatest songs ever.

Layla (Derek and the Dominoes) - Great song superb guitar.

Behind Blue Eyes (The Who, Sheryl Crow, Bryan Adams) - and thats just the versions I have and love em all.

Angie (Rolling Stones) - A song with such feeling.

Nights in White Satin (Moody Blues) - Timeless.

Ballad of Mott (Mott the Hoople) - great song but I believe it was only released as a single on the continent.

Lola (The Kinks) - Always been a Ray Davies admirer and this is run close by Celluloid heroes.

Shit thats seven I'm getting carried away here but as soon as I post I know I'll think up loads more.

Another Bonus - Two great Live Albums you must try -
The Who "Live at the Albert Hall" - Fantastic Charity concert with special guests including Bryan Adams, Noel Gallagher, Eddie Vedder, Nigel Kennedy, Kelly Jones, Paul Weller plus others.
Live Down the Road "Marcia Ball" - Never heard of this Southern blues singer until I saw her in Memphis, awesome stuff.

Wednesday Weigh In - Enjoyment is dangerous

2007 Start Weight - 219lbs

Last Weigh in - 210.4lb

Todays Actual Weight - 218lb

Loss/Gain since last Weigh in - +7.6lb

Loss so far in 2007 - 1lb

Today's Target Weight - 208lb

Loss/Gain against Target - +10lb

I feared the worst and my fears have been confirmed, I predicted a 5lb increase on vacation but the result is a 7.6lb increase. As I was behind my target (by 7.4lb) for this stage of the year before the holiday I'm now a massive 10lb off plan, in fact I'm only 1lb down for the year.

I've only been back one day and maybe I'll lose some of this recently gained weight next week it doesn't mean I'm not dissapointed. I've only myself to be angry at but despite all the walking I did I didn't keep my food & drink intake in control.

I now must look forward not back and make a big effort to get back somewhere near target in the coming weeks before my next vacation in six weeks time. My aim is to lose two pounds rather than one each week during this period, if I can achieve this I'll only be 4lb off target if that makes sense.

I will add I fully enjoyed my holiday and have always said I wont let diet in the way of holidays I just need to control things a little better. I enjoy my food and drink and sometimes you've got to let the boat out.

Back Home

I'm back home from Seattle a little tired but I've posted these four photo's of me from this trip.

I'm going to change my profile picture using one of these which do you think I should choose ?
1. Me with Concord the greatest passenger aircraft ever (English of course well ok the French helped a bit).
2. Me Looking out over Elliott Bay.
3. Me at Alki Beach in West Seattle.
4. Me at Qwest Field at the Seattlw Sounders match.

Just a short tale I had a bit of Drama on the return leg, on the first flight from Seattle to Chicago a bloke was taken ill, the pilot did the "Is there a doctor on board" and two people went to his aid. From what I saw he was having chest pains he didn't look well when he got on at the airport.
Anyway when we arrived they asked everyone to stay seated so the Paramedics that were waiting could get see to him and access the problem. While they dealt with him they let everyone sat in front of his seat then leave but I was stuck to the back. I was panicking a bit as we were running 30 minutes late so I had only one hour to my next flight.
However the Paramedics soon got him up and he actually walked off looking slightly better, hopfully for the poor chap it was just an anxiety attack cos he did look a little afraid of flying.
On the 2nd flight from Chicago to Manchester a group of obviously drunken idiots kept giving the stewardesses some stick. Eventually they refused them any more drink and they were up and down the plane and were getting on peoples nerves, everyone else just wanted to try get some sleep.
That was until the chief stewardess gave the two worst offenders a sheet of paper and made them read it. I think it was some sort of charge sheet, I think they will be visiting court and having their passports removed. Anyway it did the trick they were as quiet as mice from then on.

Last Day

Well today is my last in Seattle and I'm starting to feel very tired with all the activity. Yesterday I visited the "Experience Music Project" now although I love music I've never actually learned to play a instrument (singing as always been out of the question with my voice). Well yesterday I had a go on Drums, Keyboards, Bass & Lead Guitar. Its a real good set up and you can have a go on your own or Jam with others in other cubicles, I went solo as I didn't want to ruin it for anyone else. My Fav and best instrument in my opinion was lead guitar, ok I failed trying to copy Eric Claptons Layla or the start of Pinball Wizzard but I was able to get a sound out that resembled a tune.

One of the things I don't like about the US is the number of street beggars but I must comment on one I saw yesterday as he made me laugh. Most have notes saying various things like "Vietnam Vet", Wife and 6 Kids to support", " need air fare home", "Food please" but the one I saw I thought was hilarious "Father Killed by Ninja, need money for Karate lesson".

Last night I went to see Seattle Sounders Football (soccer) team play Portland Timbers and it certainly wasn't like visiting a match in England. The stadium was awesome although it holds 67,000 and there was only I estimate around 12,000 there so they only opened on side stand.
As I got to the ground 3 coaches arrived carrying the Portland supporters and tey were all singing and waving their flags I thought there could be a good atmosphere at the match.

I got in the stadium and the first thing you notice is that you can get served at the various bars by staff that can actually speak English and add up. Then you go to the toilet and it is actually clean and you don't have to stand in line for your go. The facilities are as good as I've seen.

Now thats the good things about American Soccer, I took my seat (you even get a drink holder) awaiting the 7pm kick off. 7pm came and went and they started playing opera over the PA system. 7.10pm came and loads of kids lined the tunnel awaiting the players, they them brought the players on not altogether but one at a time introducing them to the crowd telling you their weight, height, inside leg measurement, etc. Each player ran out with an escort of half a dozen of the kids and they all lined up in front of the stand.
7.30pm came everyone was out, ok we can start now, no along come four members of the local armed forces and took their place in front of the players and kids. The announcer then asked everbody to stand and take their hats off, they then played the American National Anthem.

The Match eventually got underway and was just getting going but after 2 minutes the announcer then started piping up doing adverts over the PA while the game went on. This was of course until after 6 minutes Seattle got their first corner when he started playing Queens "We will Rock You" while the move was completed. It was even better when they got a Free Kick when a they played a bugle playing the Cavlry charge. These things happend all the match with the announcer mixing adverts with spells of commentary of what was actually happening on the pitch.

After 13 minutes Seattle scored when Portlands goalkeeper displayed his Dracula tendancies (doesn't like crosses) and I thought this would lead to display of passion from the home support, I looked around and all we got was a polite hand clap apart from a couple of hundred with flags towards the left corner trying to match the boisterious Portland fans in the other corner.

When you thought things couln't get worse 20 minutes into the game the announcer decided it was quiz time and asked they fans a question saying the first two people to give the correct answer at the stall behind the stand would get a prize. About 2,000 people then went running out of the ground, what idiots.

This was bettered ten minutes later when the cheer leaders started throwing minature footballs into the crowd and everyone started jumping trying to catch one, you could see f**k all of the match which was still going on. They repeated this stunt in the 2nd half this time with tee shirts.

One 0f the highlights for me was when the young girl with her father who had been trying to explain the game to her, and pretending to be an expert asked him one hour into the match "Which team are we supporting".

For the supporters they were up and down all match going backwards and forwards for more food varying from burgers, chips, popcorn, hot dogs, pizza, etc it was just one big food party.

The game itself wasn't bad and Seattle deserved their one nil win, they actually played some tidy football, but the American fans have a long way to go.

I saw a big bird

Yesterday as planned I went up to north Seattle to go walking in a area called Discovery Park.
The area it is in is called Magnolia and the bus took me through the residential area and what a nice place it looks. There was some awesome looking houses with great landscaped gardens, I could certainly live in an area like that.

Anyway the park is basically Forest with many walking tracks, really pituresque and takes you to virtually deserted beaches and along cliff tops. I reckon I did about 5 mile and it was hard going some real steep ups and downs.

I stopped for a rest at one of the viewpoints over looking the bay from a cliff top when I saw this Big Bird. It was an Eagle and it was hovering only about 10 yards from me looking for prey along the cliff face. Its wing span was massive I reckon 5 to 6 foot. Before I could get my camera out it swooped down and out of site it was awesome.

Last night I went to a Argentinian Restaurant for Diner I had a steak that was really nice although I thought a tad expensive. I moved on afterwards to a Pub but to be honest I was very tired so didn't stay out too late, I was in bed before midnight.

Hello again another update.

I'm still finding plenty to do in Seattle its certainly a City worth visiting there is a lot to see and do. The other great benefit is that public transport is free around the downtown area you just hop on and off the buses. Even if you want to visit anywhere else its only $1.25.

Despite that I've done loads of walking and there are a lot of steep hills so I reckon its done my legs a lot of good, especially with the knee problems I've had this year. Ok the muscles are a little sore but the legs are feeling a lot stronger.

I took a boat tour of the harbour the other day which was really interesting and got some great views of the city. Yesterday morning I walked down to the Sports stadiums, they are awesome Quest Field where the Football and Soccer teams play is a 67,000 stadium and the baseball stadium Safeco Field next door looks at least as big. I think the soccer team are at home Saturday night so I'm going to go along (in my Leeds shirt of course).

Visited a couple of Irish Pubs last night, the first "Owl & Thistle" was a real rough looking place full of locals but turned out friendly. The barman said they do the best Fish and Chips in Seattle so I tried them. I wasn't too impressed with the chips cos they were overcooked but he was right about the Fish it was really good. The Beer was good and when a live group started to set up I thought great this will be a good night, wrong they were terrible so I eventually moved on. I did get some entertainment before I left, one bloke decided to do a runner without paying and one of the waiteresses decided to chase him across a car park. Now this waiteress looked like she'd had a "Jordan" style boob job and how she didn't give herself two black eyes I'll never know.

I moved on to another Irish Pub "Fado" and they also had live music on, well live music was maybe not the term they were attrocious I've seen much better street entertainers. To cap it all I turned around and sat next to me at the bar was a total moron wearing a Red Vermin Shirt (obviously the type that doesn't even know where Manchester is). Now I don't believe in wearing caps or hats indoor but I had my Leeds hat in my pocket so I just had to put it on.

I've 3 days left so today I'm taking the bus upto a district called "Magnolia" at the North side of the City where there is a big park called Discovery Park, don't know much about it but I'll find out. Saturday I plan to visit the "Experience Music Project" while Sunday I'm thinking of taking the Water Taxi across to West Seattle. I was talking to a lady in a bar who told me its a great area to visit with beaches, restaurants and walking/biking trails.

The weather although not hot as been kind as we have had virtually no rain despite it been forcast, actually its been sunny most days with virtually no wind. Its going to get warmer over the weekend.

Another Update from Seattle - nice girls

Yesterday the weather forcast predicted rain (it turned out sunny)so I thought it would be a good idea to do a mainly indoor activity so I decided to visit the Museum of Flight. Its about 8 miles away so I got a Bus which was a education in itself. It went through some rough areas and I reckon half the passengers were Crack Heads.

Anyway the museum was really good had everything there from the Wright Brothers plane to Concord. Had the origional Air Force One which you could go on board and have a look around. Also had exhibits from World War One and Two.

Last night I thought Tuesday ? its bound to be a quiet night so I found an English Pub called "Elephant and Castle" and the menu specialised in Traditional English Food. I had what they called "Yorkshire Pudding" with Beef and vegetables. Well it was very nice whatever it was but certainly was not Yorkshire Pudding, if they called it that where I come from it would be grounds for divorce.

Anyway I'd finished my meal when I noticed to my surprise a group of girls in their early twenties looking across the bar at me. One particurarly gorgeous creature came over and asked if I minded if she kissed me while her friend took a photo. Always happy to oblige (thinking they are mixing me up with a film star) I agreed. She went on and explained that it was her Hen do and her friends had suggested some challenges she had to do. One of thse challenges was to Kiss a total stranger (obviously she fell lucky) and take a photo as evidence. I chatted with the group for a while before they all moved on, they were a good laugh.
