Steve Irwin a Australian Hero loved by Brits.

I was going to do a tribute to Steve but Cactusfreek has beaten me to it, which is only right as she is Australian.
Steve lived for animals and helped the most ferocious, he thought nothing of dealing with the most dangerous. He lost is life when making a documentry he was stung by a stingray through the heart doing what he loved. I was a big fan.

I can remember when I first saw Steve Irwin on The Discovery channel and was quite gobsmacked at what he got up too! Someone who had a real enthusiasm about animals he made you feel good to watch his programmes.
Gone to a better place.

I heard the news last night, and was so saddened! His enthusiasm and spirit just reached right out of the tv and touched you. No matter what, he was able to make us all feel happy, joyful, and amazed at some of nature's most unusual animals.

I thought he was a great person, too. He will certainly be missed. What a tragedy! :(
