Fed up

This weekend I'm feeling sorry for myself, why you may ask ?

Well its York Table Tennis Championships and I'm not playing due to my Tennis Elbow, I should be defending the five titles (Veterans Singles, Veterans Doubles, Divisional, Mixed Doubles and Mens Doubles) I won last year when I had a great tournament but this time I have had to withdraw.
I would have actually been competing in eight events, the above 5 plus Hard Bat singles & Doubles plus the big one the Mens Singles.

I've always had a dream that I could make history and win all eight events at the same tournament, arguably physically impossible as I would have to win over thirty matches without a single loss over the weekend but I always believe my mental strength makes it possible.

I will go down to the event Sunday afternoon to support some of my team mates but it doesn't make me feel any happier about not competing myself.

I just want to clear up my aches and pains and compete.

Aawww that's sad! Poor chook [[Hugs]] :o(

We had international champion, Paul Pinkewich, in town this week. Apparently he was handing out tips to fellow players. I didn't see him play, i just read about his visit in the paper.

Look after yourself.

Thanks Ladies, Its really hard watching when I should be competing but there is still a couple of events this season I'm hoping to be fit for, we'll see.

SO sorry you were unable to compete. Hopefully your elbow will soon be much better. You are sensible to give yourself time to recover.

Well, it is hard to watch when you want to be in frey, isn't it? That stinks. On the plus side, it's better to have the grass under your feet than the moss growing on your face? (Corny, I know.)

Can I have a yellow rose tat?

Just stay positive and look to the future...maybe that will ease some of your grumpiness. Hope your buddies do well.

It's best to get everything cleared up properly even though you're chomping at the bit to get back playing. Then you can back to it in tip top shape :)
P.S. Did you have to polish all those trophy's? ;)

You won five tournament trophies, that's a great achievement. Hopefully next year you can make a tremendous comeback and that will impress everyone even more. The scene has been set for the return of the champion.

SS,
Thanks although I'm biting at the bit to compete deep down I know I need to get over my aches and pains or risk doing more damage.

Vanessa,
I hope my friends can pick up a few titles, they have a good chance I think.

Airliebird,
Yes I have to polish them, acrually they don't need to be returned at todays tournament, just before the Presentation evening in May.

Spider,
I've got to stay positive and think of bouncing back next year. Its also getting tougher with many younger players coming through. Although I believe I can counter age for a few years yet by losing weight and getting much fitter.

Rach,
White Rose - Born and bred in Yorkshire alternatevly known as Gods country.

Red Rose - Born and bred in Lancashire our immortal enemy.

As you where born in neither I suggest if you have to get a Tat a Yellow Rose is fine.

hi Mick! sure you've heard from someone but yet again i lost in the final to Martin. i was pleased though as this year i feel it was a good game. i just wasn't clinical enough and did some really silly serves and important times. i was awful in the first end then got really up for it and won the second. he won the third easily then i was 2:1 down and in the 4th end, i went 1:7 down then dug in and went 10:8 up. he got it back to 10 all and i had an advantage and served in the net... idiot!!! he got a dead net on the next point... annoying then hit a good forhand so fair enough. some really good rallies though mick but as i said, just not clinical enough and got carried away with it all at times. he was lovely as usual though. as i'v said for the past three years now, mayby next year, ha. see you the weekend of the 23rd 24th for our british league,

Rich

Rich,
I couldn't make it yesterday Wasn't too well but at least you got to the final.
Its about time you beat Martin just got to believe in yourself, gotta learn to tie him up a bit and not let him get in his power shots. You need to vary the pace cos he's a strong counterhitter.

Obviously Martin got lucky avoiding me again !

How did you do with Ian in the doubles ?
