On your profile it says you have not read a book since school ...why not??? After all I am a Literature teacher for middle grades...I need to encourage those in society to READ more...Ok I'm at work..so I know I just went on a tear. Sorry.

Thank you for the well wishes for Mom. I can't wait to wrap my arms around her this evening.

Did you travel at all in the South United States? How did you find the people treated you?

OK I strolled thru your Photos taken in Memphis. They were enjoyable. I hope to see more, but I have 28 6th graders waiting for my guidance....

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Rebecca,
So far in the last two years I've visited New York, Chicago (5 times), Nashville, Memphis & St Louis. My next trip is in 3 weeks to San Francisco but my intention is to visit a lot more Cities (New Orleans, Atlanta & Savannah are on my list).

I'm actually in the middle of downloading the rest of my Memphis pictures at this moment hope you enjoy them.

As for southern people I got with a group from New Orleans on my first night in Memphis they were really great fun to be with. Couldn't understand a word they said but they had the same problem with me.
In Nashville the Lady that ran the Bar at the hotel was called Bethany from alabama and she made me feel really welcome, a real nice person.

My statement about books is not totally true but I very rarely read maybe a odd autobiography.

Matt and I visited both Memphis and Nashville during our 3 month RV trip. Tennesse is a state I hope to visit again. As a country music fan, I thoroughly enjoyed the music of Nashville. I don't think I've ever been to Chicago or St. Louis. As I've written before, I think you've seen more of the U.S. than I have. Hopefully that will be remedied in the years ahead. Although if you keep up your U.S. visits, I may never catch up.

I just read your profile (like rebecca) and Scarface is one of my favorite movies of all time. I also love all music except RAP and whiney country.

Arlene,
I enjoyed myself in both Memphis and Nashville and wouldn't hesitate to visit again given the chance. I see them both as fun places but not really a lot to do during the day (good for a long weekend).
Of the places I've visited so far I still love Chicago the best and will return at least once next year.

Barngoddess,
Welcome to my blog, I hope you get the chance to visit England some time. Don't just visit London get around the country.
I've not visited Oklahoma yet but who knows where my future trips will take me. Last year I decided to start visiting North America and set myself a target of 2 years to see what I wanted. The trouble is I have taken such a liking to the place there is now so many more cities I want to see (will be visiting for the next few years I think). I really like a lot of the people I have met on my travels.

RNG,
In 2005 I visited Chicago when the "Taste" was on by chance. I enjoyed it and made sure I returned this year (photo's still to post).
I intend to visit again this year it is good fun, get yourself there. Try www.tasteofchicago.us
