Ok my blogging block is cured so two posts tonight.
My friend Rachel made a comment on my last nights post that we should have a bloggers weekend somewhere central (she suggests Memphis) next spring. As she say's we could greet, eat and party.
Although I believe she wasn't totally serious it is an interesting idea. Personally I'm always up for meeting people but the logistics would be impossible.
For a start looking at my blog friends list I have 4 countries represented England, Austrailia, Canada and USA. People wouldn't be able to get time off work at the same time, some maybe couldn't afford it, I imagine a few are not into meeting online friends, etc.
Saying this personally I would like to meet as many blog friends as possible on my travels, I may meet some in the next year if in the same city (I hope so). Its certainly possible as I intend another 4 visits to North America next year.
I expect my first trip to be late April, 2nd trip June/July, 3rd inSeptember and the final one in December again. I don't know yet what cities I will visit on these trips with the exception as I plan to be in Chicago for the Taste of Chicago in early July.
I've been thinking (I know that surprises you) which bloggers would meet a online friend, I reckon it'll be about 50 to 60%.
So what are your thoughts on bloggers meeting ?
Would you meet a blog friend ?

I think I would meet blogging friends in a group, although I also like the concept of having friends through blogging who don't expect or want anything from me.
We can just catch up with each other's news when we feel like it and no-one gets offended if we are too busy.
Yes, definitely.
Hello Mick
Just reading your profile and want to know who is over the hills that you hate anything to do with?
Coming To Australia any time soon?
SS,
In some ways I agree that having some bloggers that you can just pass news to each other is good.
However one of my interests is meeting people and there are certainly quite a few bloggers I would love to meet and have as real friends.
Arlene,
How far did you say you lived from San Francisco ?
Melinda,
Those from over the Hills are "Lancastrians" and I am a "Yorkist".
The hills are the Pennines which run down the middle of Northern England, Lancashire to the west and Yorkshire in the East.
In the 15th Century a war called "The War of the Roses" was fought in England between the House of Lancaster (Red Rose) and House of York (White Rose) for who sits on the throne.
Although not exactly at war today massive rivalry still exists between the counties mainly limited to the various Sports teams (and fans) from both counties.
Cactus,
Don't know about soon but I'm sure I'll visit one day. With me doing 4 vacations a year I have to limit the length. When I travel to the other side of the world I'll want at least 4 weeks to justify the long flight.
it could be alot of fun. like a blogger's convention.
Hello there....
I thought I would visit from Cactus freeks blog and say Hi!!!!
I live in Tasmania Australia so i find it hard to meet with any other bloggers.. But I have to say I started chatting about 4 years ago and have met about 12 face to face...and still good friends with 90% of them. I met a very special guythru chat and we have been together for 3 years now....He moved here to be with me... So I must say I would love to meet up with bloggers but with Bass straight cutting me off from the mainland I find it hard...
Rachel,
I agree.
WBS,
Meeting 12 blogger friends in 4 years is awesome. I've so far only met the one but hope to meet a few more on my travels.
Making friends is always important to me and I really do like the people who are regulars on my blog.
I always thought it would be neat to meet a few of the folks I chat with so frequently and know so much about. I think it would just add a new dimension to the discussion!
