Great Start Dennis

Leeds United 2 - 0 Southend

Ok it wasn't Champagne Football but it was better than what we have seen previous matches this year.
We didn't concede a goal that was important but we scored two crackers from Ian Moore following a fantastic defence splitting pass by Adam Johnson. Robbie Blake wrapped it up with a stunning Free kick.
New Goalkeeper Graham Stack played really well producing two superb saves. Special mention to Paul Butler who responded with the right attitude from losing the captaincy and had a blinder.
At last we have a manager that recognises we haven't had a decent left back since Tony Dorigo, great move to put Eddie Lewis in that position he does play there for his country (he filled the problem position with style).

By the end the ground was absolutely rocking keep this up and the stadium will soon be packed to the rafters with the returning thousands.
Well done Dennis great start now become a legend like Don & Billy on the photo behind you.

I'm so glad we got a win under our belts. A lot of the game is confidence, whenever we've let in a goal recently we have lost the plot. Of course we didn't let in a goal yesterday, which is great, but you know what I mean lol. A leap in confidence helps you deal with tough parts of a game.
We're going to try and get to Elland Road soon. Now we have a daughter living in Leeds we'll be in the area more often.
I'll be getting a drink tonight when I go to work, first one in a while!!

Airliebird,
I think Wisey addresed the left back problem moving Lewis there, at work we have been on about this for ages and can't understand why others didn't do it.
I also reckon the fitness levels arn't good enough (conceding late in games is always a sign of this)and I was pleased reading this mornings papers that Wisey is going to concentrate on lifting fitness levels.
I'm optimistic we have now got the right Manager & coach to take us back where we belong, we just have to be patient.

I heard Wisey on the radio talking about how a few of em could do with losing some weight. Did you read in the Yorkshire Post last Monday, after the last game before he took over, 10 pizzas where delivered to the team bus after the match. It struck me that if the lads are on the 'comfort food' it didn't look good.
It'll be hard work getting the fitness levels up, but they're nicely paid for what they do, and the benefits in the end will be well worth it!

Airliebird,
I don't think it will be long before Wisey dumps the lazy one's.
The fans will be right behind him when its done, they are not stupid and know whats required.
