My Town - Selby
The town in which I was brought up and still live is called Selby in North Yorkshire. Its is 12 miles south of York and 21 miles to the east of Leeds.
The area I was raised and had my first adventures of life was on a tough working class housing estate nicknamed locally as "The Canyon".
The biggest feature in Selby is a 11th century Abbey which dominates the town.
Pictures :-
1. Selby's biggest Hotel The Londsborough (sorry only hotel).
2. The Old Toll Bridge (they used to charge us to cross the river).
3. Selby Park
4. The Museum Hall now home to the Salvation army.
5. Selby Town Hall.
6. Selby Abbey.
