As most people who read my blog know one thing I like doing is visiting various Cities on my vacations. I am currently concentrating on North America and I am looking for genuine opinions.
So Blogging friends this is what I want to do :-
I want your advice on which North American Cities you think I would enjoy visiting. Please pick your top five choices (with comments if you wish) and rank them in order of preference (USA or Canada). I will give five points to each top choice, four for 2nd, Three for 3rd etc. I will then add the points up and create a ranking list of places to visit.
For info - I have already visited Chicago, New York, Memphis & Nashville. I have also a visit to St Louis planned in June.
I am looking for Cities I have not visited.
I am looking for places that are friendly (important when travelling solo).
I enjoy a good live music scene.
During the day time I enjoy exploring the city on foot.
I will be looking to visit the top choice(s) over the next year or so (next visit probably September).

Hey Mick, I would suggest:
1. Boston - I love Boston. Went there years ago and found the people great. Went to the original Cheers, met some Red Sox players. Good seafood and so much to do. Of course, being British, not sure if you want to visit the big Tea Party city?!
2. Atlanta - Lots to do and when you're down South, folks are always so friendly.
3. Kansas City, Mo. - Great ribs, you can go to Harrah's Lucky Break on Wednesday night for the taping (it's a local American Idol show, lots of fun).
I don't have five cities though! I need some help finding some Staffordshire potteries so I can get some ceramics to decorate!!
Fort Worth, Texas
Washington DC
San Francisco
Cape Cod, MA
Atlanta, GA
I must say Seattle rocks.
Also, in Illinois there is a town called "Normal". I think it would be fun to be able to say, "I've visited Normal, but didn't want to stay."
:)
OK here goes:
1) Boston: best big new england city, great seafood, lots of history, sports, architechture and a good transit system ;-)
2) Denver: ok, I am biased because I live here, but I think it is a great city. Super weather, the mountains are fantastic, very friendly people and a fun downtown area called LoDo.
3) Washington DC: our nation's capital, amazing buildings, lots of historical sites, awesome museums (the Smithsonian is tops), great sports and nice climate.
4) Seattle: very cool urban vibe, climate is a little like Britian, great music scene
5) Savannah: epitome of genteel southern hospitality. The squares are beautiful to walk around, the historic homes and eccentric people are so interesting and great bars by the river.
Hi -- I'm new to your blog, but I wanted to give my opinion:
1. Philadelphia, PA -- great music scene and awesome restaurants (www.gophila.com)
2. Atlanta, GA -- been there, nice city
3. Key West, FL -- not really a city, it is an island in the Florida Keys. I was just there in April and loved it.
Those are my top 3!
I don't have 5 to add cuz I haven't been to that many big cities that have knocked my socks off. So, being a native Oregonian, I will just plug our fine city. You really should visit Portland, Or. It is so beautiful. The beautiful Willamette River runs right through the city. We have a gorgeous downtown and waterfront area. Lots of live, local bands. LOTS of good food. If you can't get here, I would also say Seattle is great. I love the Northwest. So, if you can get over here, please give us a visit. :)
My opinion -
1.Boston
2.Denver
3.Washington
4.Sante Fe
5.Montreal
5=Toronto
US or Canada... what about Mexico!?! You would love Mexico City or Vera Cruz... if it's the language you're worried about, there are tons of small beach towns where you can get by with little to no Spanish... and lets not forget the legendary amount of fun a traveler can find in Tijuana!
chicago!!! were you here in during the summer? if not you MUST come during the summer!!
Hey, some Canadian Suggestions;
1. Vancouver BC Canada: If you like it, Vancouver will have it
2. Victoria BC Canada: My favorite place: the scenery is so beautiful it will take your breath away and not give it back
3. Toronto Canada: you have to check out the underground music scene, it's lurking everywhere
4.Whistler BC Canada: A world of its own, bring lotsa money though.
5.Ottawa Canada: Our capital and if your into it lotsa out door markets and coffee shops, a very " sit and chill city"
Great site lots of usefull infomation here.
